I think the end-of-match rating system should be reconsidered. Right now, only your final placement and whether you won or lost seem to matter. It doesn’t feel fair that if I finish with 9 points after fighting for the entire game, I lose the same amount of rating as the last-place player just because we share the same rank.
The rating changes should be more progressive. The winner should gain points, the player who came closest should only lose 1–3 points, third place could lose 4–6, and last place 7 or more. Otherwise, from a rating perspective, finishing second or fourth often makes no real difference, which doesn’t make sense.
If everyone finishes far behind the winner, then larger rating losses are reasonable. But when several players finish on 9 points and one player wins by a small margin, having everyone lose 6–7 points is unfair. In close games, luck often decides the outcome, even when everyone played well. I believe the rating system should better reflect how competitive each match actually was.
