If a player does not pick a placement in the alotted time have it auto place them in a poor location instead of the best location that is currently does. Players should not be rewarded for using auto pick.
This is used by many players and it’s annoying. They got a reward of best possible place by making another player wait.

I dont think its that big of a problem strategy wise. Mainly takes a lot of time.
The bot always picks the highest producing spot and misses better spots that is like a pip down. I would rather have the game just show the player the highest producing spots on hover (or similar). Like 13 pips for a 569 or 5 pips for a 2311. Maybe have a button for the player to “pick the highest producing spot” and be done with it.
It’s a board game. The point being players should think for themselves and not be rewarded for letting the game think for them just because it’s a digital version.. By auto placement putting them in lower pip locations it’s incentive for players to think for themselves to have the more authentic board game experience
i agree with everyone players shouldn’t be rewarded for bot picking for them in a rank match. Rank matches is to test the skill and experience of going against other skilled players not a bot pick your placements for you it defeats the purpose of the whole game. The placement stage is one of the most skilled part of the game to setup your game not have a bot auto pick the best production tiles because the player couldn’t find it themselfs. Also would love the game in rank matches to more balance dice I’m seeing a pattern with most of my matches that 7s are rolled like 50% time in first 1-10 turns of the match starting I find that very weird cause when i play in table top tournments for Catan I never seen 7s rolled as much as playing online on this website…it gets a little frustrating when you lose all your starting cards in some matches due to amount of 7s rolled which is crazy for starting the game i think for dice balancing.
The bots are already terrible. I think making them worse intentionally is a very bad idea. If the goal is to make bots useless at the game, we might as well just cancel games as soon as someone turns into a bot.
I’ll monetize it for the devs; this prevents me from paying for a subscription.
