Dice. Yes, everybody is telling you that the dice are broken. I get that from a statistical standpoint there might be games where 6 rolls 2 times and 8 rolls 20 times, but nobody enjoys games like these. I hate even winning this type of game since I feel like I just got lucky. For dice, there should be something in between random and balanced. When you are playing with balanced dice, rolls become too predictable, so that’s also not good. The best adjustment I would suggest is to remove super anomalies while still keeping the dice random.
Price. From the leaderboard, top 100 only 32 players have some type of premium. To add to this, these are the most hardcore Colonist lovers. If you check other ranks, it’s like 1 in 10 is paying for a subscription. It’s a browser-based board game, for ∗∗∗’s sake. $3–5 per month would make a lot more people purchase the subscription and you would probably make more money from the volume of subscriptions. $15 per month feels super unreasonable for this type of product. The price should be small enough that you don’t think twice about being charged.
Voice chat. It’s not 2005 anymore. Everybody has microphones. Some games I feel like a newspaper writer just to communicate basic things.
